Fundamental calculations of the technical design
performed by Sea Tech together with our partners:
1. Strength research
Creation of the main structure together with the
Department of Theory of Design of Engineering Structures (Prof.
Girin S.N.). Optimization of foil design, weight reduction (Sea
Tech).
2. Hydrodynamic calculations
The calculation of the resistance curve and the
required power of the power plant was carried out by a 3-step method:
1) recalculation from tests of self-propelled
models, adjusted for the statistics of constructed domestic and
foreign hydrofoil vessels;
2) optimization of the obtained source data in the
AutoWing program (Icarus Marine, South Africa);
3) verification calculation by methods of
computational fluid dynamics based on the data obtained in step 2 (OpenFoam
CAD, Rostock University, Germany).
4) a test run in a basin
(Icarus Marine, South Africa).
3. Aerodynamics
Aerodynamic drag calculations - OpenFoam CAD (Sea Tech).
