In 2009-2010, Sea Tech Ltd. elaborated a complete set of
detailed documentation for construction of
a self-propelled dry
cargo ship (project RSD44) to carry general and bulk
cargoes including containers. The ship has two cargo holds,
wheelhouse at bow and deckhouse at stern.
Self-propelled multipurpose dry-cargo ship ofmixed (river-sea)
navigation area with two cargo holds,
intended for carrying of the general
and bulk cargoes, including TEU and FEU
up to 9’6’’ height in holds, steel, scrap, grain,
timber, logs and carving woods, potash and
mineral fertilizer, niter, sulphur, coal, building
materials, paper, large-dimension cargoes.
The RSD44 ships are to supersede the preceding 'Volgo-Don' family
vessels. Cargo capacity is increased by 500 tons. Above-water
height enables passing the Neva bridges and the Rostov-on-Don
railroad bridge undrawn. The ships will be automated extensively
and furnished with up-to-date rudder propellers to obtain
efficient maneuverability and excellent steerability.
The family-first 'Captain
Ruzmankin' vessel was launched at Oka Shipyard in November
2010. As an initial phase, ten ships of this project were
constructed till January 2012.
